Fun Math Game

Making Change, is a fun game that makes buying at the convenience store fun. Children can use their counting skills to buy items and learn how to add and pay for their purchases all on their own and for POINTS :)

3 Favourite Learning Sites

Over the year we will be working on many web2.0 learning sites.

One particular resource that children and adults may enjoy using is Bitstrips. This interactive site allows students to create graphic stories and pictures based on the content we've leaned in class. I will be encouraging students to use this site often as it is not only a creative place to learn...but it is also FUN!

Another resource you might enjoy learning about is Voice Thread. This site is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate slides and leave comments through either using voice, texts, audio file, or video.

Glogster is another great site to use. It's a multimedia tool & expression space for young people, students, educators, and all creative people through its innovative Glog format and the new online phenomenon, Glogging.

BEST RESOURCE

Over the school year, you will be asked to visit the Grand Erie District School Board website. Here you will find a parent portal with a huge amount of resources that will guide you through any information you need to know about the District.

Another site to look at is the Ministry of Education, and please consider the Curriculum Site. Is there something particular that stands out for you in these two sites? With your child, please visit the curriculum for our grade and find two topics that he/ she is interested in this year. Please comment below.

Tips for Parents: This online site will help you become aware of the curriculum requirements for your child's grade level.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog,

This is a place where my students and parents can learn about the great things we are doing for the year. I will be posting information, news and links for students and parents to strengthen communication between home and school. I encourage parents and students to comment to the posts and to use this learning area as an ongoing dialogue. Please note that students will also be given their own blogs. I urge you to make a comment below and talk about how you would like this online resource to be used.
